Custom Report Fields
You can add and manage custom report fields on the Company Reports page
For Expensify customers, these custom fields will also synchronize with the tags you set up in Expensify automatically. Please refer to the Expensify Tag Synchronization page for more info.
Custom employee fields allow you to add unique identifiers for each reservation. These fields will show up on Company Reports and all transaction receipts.
You can also require employees to fill out a custom field before booking travel, which can be helpful for accounting, billing, and giving you insight into why travel was booked by the employee.
Some common custom report fields include:
- Trip Purpose
- Project Code
- Billable / Non-Billable
- Reason for Booking Expensive Travel
- etc.
To add a custom field, click the Add Report Field button at the top left hand corner of the page.
You will be presented with a dialog to decide what type of field this will be. The options are:
- Text - This will allow you to type in any value for the custom field
- Number - This will restrict the value to only numbers
- List - This will restrict the value to a predefined list of values
After selecting the field type, you can enter a name for the field. This will be the name that shows up on all Reports and Receipts going forward.
Once you're done, click Save to add the custom report field.
You will immediately see the new field appear on your Report Results table.
